We are looking to participate again next year with the full team. It was a well organised meet with the participation of British International School of Dubai and Kuwait, Epsom Malaysia, Prince of Wales from Penang, BSKL and GIS. Our swimmers collected a big number of medals and did a great job despite the fact most of them took a training off week due to the Discovery Week. He also achieved all new PBs across all 8 of his events as follows:įollowing the news from MoE lifting up restrictions we managed to enter with 11 swimmers to the North Anglia Schools swim meet organised at BSKL. The Novice meet was a very long 2 days swim meet, as there were 1600+ swimmers! Max’ performance at the Novice meet over at Pade, Shah Alam was absolutely amazing, managing to win 7 medals in total - 5 Golds, 1 Silver, 1 Bronzeand was the overall top scorer boy in the 12-year-old boys' age category. We hope GIS swimmers enjoyed themselves, had a rewarding experience and made a lot of new friends along the way. Once again, we extend our warmest thanks to all swimmers, parents, and coaches for making this meet a success. A huge congratulations for Amanda Koek Gelacio and Adrienne Tjang for winning all of their events. However, some of the younger age group swimmers manage to overcome the challenge to wake up early in the morning for 6am training sessions at schools. GIS swimmers faced the challenge of heatwave restriction which meant they were unable to do more training sessions as usual. Our GIS Dragons’ swimmers attended the 7th Novice Swim Meet at Pusat Akuatik Darul Ehsan, where they competed for two days with other swim clubs in Malaysia. Successful Novice Swim Meet for our Dragons’ swimmers Masato Fujimoto (7-12 years) and Kellyn Choong (16-18 years) were awarded the MVS (most valuable swimmer) trophy in their age groups and gender.ħth Novice Swim Meet, Max Tang achievements and NAE Invitational at BSKL 17th-18th June 2023 GIS took part in the yearly MSSWPKL Swimming event, which took place in the National Swimming Pools at Bukit Jalil on the 25th and 26th of July.ĭespite the summer break, and off-season for many of our swimmers, GIS completed an awesome event with new personal bests and some Meet Records broken by our team members.Įven though the final team results have not been released we are quite certain that we became overall winners.
